In Star Wars, the most common and well-known lightsabers are the blue, red, purple lightsaber and green lightsaber, which helps us distinguish the two sides of the Force. Like other objects in the galaxy, lightsabers of different colors represent different meanings and are used by different members, depending on their responsibilities (and the Force side they are on).
Green Lightsaber
The green lightsaber is the second most common lightsaber used by the Jedi. Like blue lightsabers, green lightsabers have no specific meaning, but those who use them tend to value harmony, helpfulness, kindness, and a willingness to cooperate. The green lightsaber is often used by the wise, higher Jedi, such as Master Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Luke Skywalker. It is worth mentioning that Ahsoka Tano also used a light green short lightsaber. In the legend, the green lightsaber is used by the Jedi Consul.
Purple Lightsaber
The purple lightsaber is extremely rare and is also used by the Jedi, the most famous being Mace Windu. In fact, purple lightsaber was enabled at the request of Samuel L. Jackson because purple was his favorite color. Likewise, in the Star Wars universe, this rare lightsaber has no practical meaning. However, since purple is a combination of red and blue, in the Gaiden, it signifies moral ambiguity, uncertainty, and reconstruction.
Therefore, the use of purple lightsaber indicates that the user is connected to both the light and dark sides of the Force. Windu's purple lightsaber first appeared in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Later, in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Windu clashed with Darth Sidious, and the lightsaber fell out of the window and was lost.
