In the previous article, we shared which lightsabers Darth Maul used in Star Wars, and introduced in detail the double bladed lightsabers he used. In this article, we will continue to share Darth Maul and Darth Maul lightsaber related stories.
Single-bladed lightsaber of Darth Maul
All believed Darth Maul was dead after his death on Naboo. Nevertheless, he reappeared in the Clone Wars. He was seen wielding a red lightsaber with just one blade. Some claim that he utilized the other half of his lightsaber. Some claim that he invented his own unique single standard lightsaber.
He started by challenging the Mandalorean emperor. In accordance with Mandalorian traditions, the victor of a battle involving the Darksaber is declared the ruler of the Mandalore planet. He used his one-bladed lightsaber to combat Tee Vizsla.
Tee Vizsla was an excellent fighter with the Darksaber. But he couldn't stand a chance against a dead Sith lord. He was quickly destroyed by Darth Maul, who later took control of Mandalore.
Darth Maul started wielding both the Darksaber and his red regular lightsaber. He used both of these lightsabers in battles with Darth Sidious and other opponents, as seen in the Clone Wars. However, for some reason, we hardly ever saw him use the Darksaber. He receiving his double-bladed lightsaber back is the only explanation that makes sense.
Rebel Lightsabers of Darth Maul
In the Rebels television series, Darth Maul also employed a double-bladed lightsaber. But he was using a different kind of lightsaber than he had in the past.
Cane of Darth Maul's Lightsaber
Assajj Ventress discovered the other half of his red lightsaber, as depicted in Clone Wars. He then made a replica of his two-bladed lightsaber. His prior lightsaber didn't look anything like this new one. This lightsaber appeared to have a wooden cane or stick for a hilt.
He was proficient with it and preferred to use it over a Darksaber or a regular lightsaber. To give the impression that he was an older man, he also used a lightsaber cane as a walking aid. He employed this strategy, as seen in Rebels, to persuade Ezra to unlock the Sith Holocron.
Earlier, at the conclusion of the Clone Wars, we seen Darth Maul's double-bladed lightsaber in use. After the Rebels series, the Clone Wars season finale was broadcast. However, it tells the earlier story in chronological order. We get to witness the same, strong Darth Maul that fought Ahsoka Tano. He was defeated by Ahsoka, who then imprisoned him, but he managed to escape as Order 66 was being carried out.
Until his final battle, Darth Maul used his double-bladed lightsaber cane. He was looking for Obi-Wan so he could exact revenge. On Tattoine, he discovered Obi-Wan, and went to murder him. But once more, Obi-Wan was able to defeat him. Unknown is what happened to Darth Maul's rebel lightsaber cane. I'm assuming Obi-Wan buried Darth Maul’s double-bladed lightsaber somewhere in the desert.
